Samsung Galaxy S 11 Features, Specifications and Cost

108-megapixel camera

The recent news that Samsung and Xiaomi have teamed up to create a stunning 64-megapixel smartphone camera and first-of-its-kind 108-megapixel sensor served to whet Galaxy S11 fans' appetites – only to learn that the new high-spec smartphone camera technology would not debut on Samsung's next flagship. Instead, the duo announced, the camera setup would make its debut on Xiaomi's Redmi product line.

That's not to say that the Samsung Galaxy S11 won't feature the impressive camera and sensor – but just that it won't be the first. Indeed, Ice Universe took to Twitter to assuage Samsung fans' concern, assuring people that the new Galaxy Note 10 would be the last flagship from Samsung to sport its old camera tech.

"Starting from S11," he noted, "Samsung camera will be a new beginning," before going on to add: "By the way, next year you will see on your smartphone: a 10x optical zoom camera and a 108MP camera."

You’d hope that a lower-tier Galaxy S11 might avoid the upward trend in smartphone prices by mimicking the Galaxy S10e and skimping on certain features. The fact that it’s possible to spend quite so much on a Galaxy S10 handset, however, doesn’t bode well for our bank accounts. Expect to pay upwards of £800 for a basic Galaxy S11, and don’t be surprised if the vast majority of high storage, high memory options come in at over £1,000.

A source who spoke to SamMobile claims that the Galaxy S11 could launch on 18 February 2020. Historically, Samsung’s flagship handsets launch like clockwork within the same two-month period: February or March.
